We are gonna talk about the same, Smartphones, in this series. Don't forget to read the upcoming articles of this series.

Today, our topic is Processors. What is a processor? Processor is a small chip, actually very small, which controls all the tasks and everything of any smartphone. You may call it as the brain of smartphone or any electronic device. But we're gonna talk specifically about the smartphone processors.

The basic things to see in any processor are
•Core
•Size (nm)
•Date, the processor launched on

So, the cores, or it can be referred as the hands, are a main component when it comes to multitasking. The more cores the better is the performance while multitasking. It's like, the more the hands, faster the job done. Generally, we are now having 8 core processors nowadays.

Size is another important factor as it related to many things, what matters to us is the power consumption. The smaller the processor is size, the more energy efficient. It means, You should always prefer a 6nm processor over 7 or 8nm processor.

The date of it's launch, or to see how old or how new the processor is by their launch time. If the processor is recently launched, it's definitely based new improved technologies, but if the processor is old, it could have some problems or issues, not necessarily, but it could have. So you should always prefer a processor that is recently launched, it's fine even if it is a bit weaker but always prefer it.

Now coming to actual real life, we have two giant processor manufacturers in android industry i.e. Qualcomm and the Mediatek. There are many more but these two are the guest of honor.

Qualcomm Snapdragon's processors are assumed to be more optimised for gaming than Mediatek's processors. So if you are a heavy gamer, You should have your focus on Snapdragon powered smartphones.

But in recent year, Mediatek has done a great job. That's why nowadays we are noticing that Mediatek is becoming more and more popular in Mid Range and even in Flagships.

Mediatek has basically series of processors like Helio G, P, Dimensity, etc. The processors in Dimensity series are all 5G processors. The Helio G is more likely Gaming centred. If you look at G80, G85, G90, G90T, G95, even the latest ones G88 & G96, these are very common in mid range smartphones and even in entry level smartphones.

Snapdragon's series goes like Snapdragon 400 series, 600 series, 700 series, 800 series, etc. The 800 series processors are the flagship ones, 400 series is the entry level, 600 series is the mid range, 700 series is quite premium. The latest Flagship processor from snapdragon is 888+, though they've announced the 898 but it's not in the market till now. The latest in 700 series is 778G, which is a 5G processor and is quite popular in Premium smartphones.

Conclusion: If you're looking a phone in budget between
Under 7K: Look for Mediatek Helio G35 or SD 400 series processor. Unisoc T618 is also a decent processor.

7K-10K: Look at least for G80. You can have G85 too. Or Snapdragon 600 series.

10K-12K: You can easily get G88, which is the latest in series, Or G90, Snapdragon 662, etc.

12K-15K: Here's you should look for G95, G96, Snapdragon 720/730. If you want a 5G phone, then look for Dimensity 700, it's a good processor.

15K-18K: You should now prefer a 5G phone if you are planning to use it for at least 2-3 year. 5G processors for this range are Dimensity 800, Dimensity 800U, Dimensity 810, Snapdragon 750G, or you can get a 4G if 5G is not important, Snapdragon 732G, G96, G95...

18K-20K: (5G) Snapdragon 750G, Snapdragon 768G, Dimensity 900, Dimensity 810, Dimensity 800U...

20K-25K: You should look for Snapdragon 778G, the most popular in this range. Dimensity 900, Dimensity 1000, Snapdragon 668, Snapdragon 870.

25K-30K: Dimensity 1200, Dimensity 900, Snapdragon 778G, Snapdragon 870G
